Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz fettuccine (or pasta of choice)
  • 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 8 oz andouille sausage (sliced)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 23 tsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Optional Add-Ins:

  • 1 cup bell peppers (sliced)
  • 1 cup baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Shrimp: In a bowl, toss shrimp with 1 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque, about 2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  3. Cook the Sausage: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Sauté the sliced andouille sausage until browned and fragrant. Remove and set aside.
  4. Make the Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium. Melt butter in the skillet, then add minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Pour in heavy cream, stirring to combine. Gradually whisk in Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Add Seasoning: Stir in remaining Cajun seasoning, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and black pepper. Adjust to taste.
  6. Combine: Return the cooked pasta, shrimp, and sausage to the skillet. Toss to coat everything in the sauce. Add optional vegetables if desired and cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve immediately with garlic bread or a side salad.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by increasing or reducing the Cajun seasoning and cayenne pepper.
  • This dish can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container. Reheat gently to avoid overcooking the shrimp.
  • Feel free to customize with your favorite vegetables or proteins!
